MATT MARCHAND ANNOUNCES RUN FOR WARD 4 CITY OF WINDSOR COUNCILLOR
25-year Walkerville resident with Proven Policy Success, 20 years experience working with highest levels of local government and business

WINDSOR, ON – Today, Matt Marchand announced his run for City Council in Ward 4 in the City of Windsor.

“As a 25-year resident of Walkerville, I have unique qualifications for City Councillor for Ward 4. With my experience in leadership positions in this community combined with my Proven Policy Success, I am confident we can continue the economic cultural renaissance of Walkerville and all of Ward 4, building on the work of previous councilors from Chris Holt, Tom Porter, Fulvio Valentinis, Alan Halberstadt, and others,” said Marchand.

Marchand has a track record of Proven Policy Success and has been engaged in public policy service for 20 years—first with a 12-year stint as a Policy Assistant in the Mayor’s Office then a total of eight years at the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce, six of which were as the President & CEO. His total of 20 years working with the highest levels of local government and business brings unique value to the council table from Ward 4 to City Hall.

Marchand has a proven track record of policy success from the private sector. As Chamber President & CEO, he received an unprecedented five awards in six years from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce for community leadership and advocacy excellence, including awards for the tiered membership program, advocacy on single sports betting, and partnering with the labour community to call for an auto strategy.

Marchand will be talking to residents about their concerns, ideas, hopes, and aspirations, after which he will release his platform focused on safety, affordability, and livability.

Previously, Marchand ran for Mayor in 2018, presenting a platform that included the Auditor General, fixing the Dougall Death Trap, introducing protected bike lane pilot projects, and eliminating the costly Pedestrian Underpass—all of which have been successfully implemented by the current council over the last four years.

Matt Marchand is running for City Council for Ward 4, with his Proven Policy Success and 20 years of working with the highest levels of government and business. Marchand will be listening to residents and focusing on community priorities such as safety, affordability, and livability.
